Kenya Defence Forces Recruitment 2024: Recruitment to join the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) 2024/2025 application has been announced throughout the eight (8) provinces in Kenya. Recruiting new officers for the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is part of the country’s efforts to protect its borders from invasions by air, sea, or land.

Interested candidates are to note that logging into the Defence Force official portal or applying for either Cadet, Specialist Officer, Defence Force Constable, Tradesmen or Women or General Duty Recruits is free of charge.

Kenya Defence Forces application requirements are essentially an important part of your online application. You must possess all the application conditions to qualify for 2024/2025 enlistment.

Interested candidates must meet the recruitment application requirements. All who are interested in applying online for the Kenya Defence Forces recruitment must have a copy of their National Identity Card, which the Back and the Front of your ID Card are expected to be in (PDF or JPEG).

What Are The KDF 2024/2025 Recruitment Requirements?

Kenya’s Ministry of Defence has announced via the application portal, informing the public that only candidates with all recruitment requirements and academic qualifications will be recruited into the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

  • All interested candidates must be Kenyan by birth, must possess a legal means of identification (Kenyan National ID Card) and all who are interested must provide at least (4) copies of their PIN Certificate including their National Identity Card.

  • All who are interested in applying online must be between eighteen (18) and twenty-six (26) years. Other candidates applying as Specialist Officers must not be older than thirty (30) years. In contrast, those seeking positions as Medical Consultants and Chaplains or Imams should not be older than thirty-nine (39) years.

  • All participants must be physically and medically fit, and free from criminal records, and pregnant women are not eligible to apply. Interested male candidates must possess a height requirement of 60 m (5ft 3in) and 54.55 kilograms (Kg) (120 lb) in weight, while female candidates must be at least 60 m (5ft 3in) and 50.00 kilograms (Kg) (110 lb) in weight.

  • Interested candidates must possess at least a grade of B (Plain) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a C+ in Mathematics, English Language, including any of the science subjects.

  • Candidates who are interested are expected to possess either a Master’s degree, Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in military science and security studies.
