What Are The KDF 2024/2025 Recruitment Requirements?
Kenya’s Ministry of Defence has announced via the application portal, informing the public that only candidates with all recruitment requirements and academic qualifications will be recruited into the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

All interested candidates must be Kenyan by birth, must possess a legal means of identification (Kenyan National ID Card) and all who are interested must provide at least (4) copies of their PIN Certificate including their National Identity Card.

All who are interested in applying online must be between eighteen (18) and twenty-six (26) years. Other candidates applying as Specialist Officers must not be older than thirty (30) years. In contrast, those seeking positions as Medical Consultants and Chaplains or Imams should not be older than thirty-nine (39) years.

All participants must be physically and medically fit, and free from criminal records, and pregnant women are not eligible to apply. Interested male candidates must possess a height requirement of 60 m (5ft 3in) and 54.55 kilograms (Kg) (120 lb) in weight, while female candidates must be at least 60 m (5ft 3in) and 50.00 kilograms (Kg) (110 lb) in weight.

Interested candidates must possess at least a grade of B (Plain) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a C+ in Mathematics, English Language, including any of the science subjects.

Candidates who are interested are expected to possess either a Master’s degree, Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in military science and security studies.

Is The Kenya Defence Forces Recruitment Ongoing?
No, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has yet to begin the 2024/2025 recruitment of Cadets, Specialist Officers, Defence Force Constables, Tradesmen or Tradeswomen or Others into the defence force.
The Kenya Defence Forces previously conducted its recruitment exercise on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, and ended on Sunday, November 14, 2021, and a number of successful candidates have been shortlisted and recruited into the Kenya Defence Forces.
A general recruitment announcement or advertisement for interested candidates in any of the open fields will be made by the Kenya Defence Forces before the end of 2024/2025.
